Communities	2 - 4	Social Studies: 6.7 Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.2	The students compare and contrast the urban, suburban and rural communities and draw each type of community and write about a visit to one of the communities.

Create a Dinosaur	1 - 2	Science 5.1 5.5 Language Arts Literacy 3.2 3.3 3.4	Students will accurately describe the characteristic of a dinosaur. Students will take factual information and apply it to a creative process

Dinosaurs/Paleontologists	K - 3	Language Arts 3.4 Science 5.1 Career/Consumer Standards 9.1	Students will recognize the role and basic job tasks of paleontologists as part of ongoing study of dinosaurs.

Dramatic Presentation Of Animal Fables	2 - 4	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.1:	After reading the fable " The Ant and the Grasshopper", children will work in groups to put dialogue to the fable and then they will present the dramatic story to the rest of the class.

I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Written That Way	2 - 5	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.2& 3.4 Science Standard 5.5	Students learn that animals are predators because they have to survive and that this doesn't make them "bad". They discuss how many of our perceptions about predators are based on myths.

Messages in a Bottle	2 - 5	Language Arts St. 3.2 Social Studies Standard 6.7	Students will send “a message in a bottle” to request help and a map of their location so rescuers can find them

Perfect “Pp”	K	Language Arts (Reading) 3.1	A hands-on lesson and literacy centers focusing on the initial consonant “p”. Students will also enjoy a fun-filled, kinesthetic assessment and interactive web link.

Using Customary Units To Measure Length	2-5	Mathematics: STANDARD 4.1 Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.1:	The students will read How Big is a Foot?. Then, they will have the opportunity to measure using their own form of measurement and make comparisons when they use customary units. In the next two lessons, they will use their knowledge of customary units to estimate, measure and compare their heights.

Next they will create 5 word problems. Students will solve each others problems.

The kids can have a lot of fun and, of course, after it is all over, they can eat the candy.

Time Line Data Record of Seed Germination	2-5	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.2 Science: Standard 5.1	Students recognize seed parts and what they do for the germinating plant, use what seeds need to germinate and watch the results. They will then observe what happens ad build a time line of the plants activities.

Sensing Our World	Pre K - K	Language Arts Literacy 3.3 3.4 Science 5.5	Students identify the basic body parts.

Singular and Plural Possessives	2 - 6	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.2	After a review of singular and plural possessives, students display 3-4 examples of each onto a large piece of construction paper.

Special Poetry	2-3	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.2	Children will be able to use the writing process to create a poem about a special person.

Weather Reporting	2-5	Science: Standard 5.1 Career/Consumer Standards 9.1 Social Studies: Std 6.7 Technology 8.1	Using an internet website, students will be asked to randomly select a capital city in the U.S. and complete a 5 day forecast for that city. Students will then present their weather forecast as a TV weather reporter

What Was Happening Back In Time?	2 - 4	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.4 Social Studies: Standard 6.3 & 6.7	Students experience using a time line first hand as well as reading and reporting on historical events over the centuries.

Word Family Short E	1-3	Language Arts Literacy: Standard 3.3 & 3.4	Students create a 'Flip Book' for short e family words.

Word Jumble	2-5	Language Arts: Std 3.1	The students will work cooperatively in teams to make correctly spelled words by placing the letters from their set in the correct spelling format of the given word.

Fact Families -Multiplication & Division	2-3	Mathematics: STANDARD 4.1	This lesson is an introduction to division. Students will explore the relationship between multiplication and division. Students will work in partners using fruit loops as manipulatives, making models to show multiplication and division sentences.

Let's Buy Some Candy - Estimating Sums	2 - 3	Mathematics - Standard 4.1	The students will go "Candy Shopping" to round and mentally add 2 digit numbers in order to estimate sums.

Math T Races	2 - 5	Mathematics Standard - 4.1	This activity has students in solving problems in a fun and unique way.

Money	2 - 5	Mathematics Standard - 4.1	Students will count a give change using realistic money and a real life problems using both pencil and paper and calculator.

Painted Lady Butterflies	2 - 6	Science Standard 5.5	Students view and care for butterflies in the classroom. They chart their observations and write about what they see, developmental stages, behavior etc... students become excited about this project.

Ocean Animals	2 - 4	Mathematics: 4.5 Science: Standard 5.1 Technology 8.1	Students will use Computer Resources to research various ocean animals. Research information can be compiled into a sea animal report.

Rock Hound	3 - 6	Language Arts Literacy: Strd 3.2 Science: Std 5.8	Students learn about Earth Science and discuss the definition of a rock, later developing the concept of how rocks form and are changed in the rock cycle. After viewing the Power Point presentation the students can log onto the Mount Rushmore web site and apply their understanding of rocks.
